Configurations

Available versions

SIMSPAR Design 1.0

This version allows to deal with a wide range of mast within some limitations:
  • Number of spreader sets limited to 2
  • Mast section constant between spreaders, may be tapered above headstay
  • Attachment on mast of diagonal transverse cables close to spreader attachment on mast

SIMSPAR Design 1.0 "Medium mast"

Based on the SimSpar Design features, this version allows to design 3 spreader rig and to tune the mast jack.
  • Number of spreader sets limited to 3
  • Mast section constant between spreaders, may be tapered above headstay
  • Attachment on mast of diagonal transverse cables close to spreader attachment on mast
  • User defined load
  • Rig own weight
  • Mast jack tuning

SIMSPAR 1.0 "Big mast"

This version is dedicated to mast designer, it allows to design rig up to 5 spreader set and the mast tube stresses can be exported to a file to design the mast tube section.
  • Up to 5 spreader sets
  • Mast section constant between spreaders, may be tapered above headstay
  • Attachment on mast of diagonal transverse cables close to spreader attachment on mast
  • User defined loads
  • Rig own weight
  • Mast jack tuning
  • Mast tube stress export to file

Composite mast option

This option includes the "advanced mechanical property manager" that allows to manage mechanical property (modulus, inertia,...) variations along the mast tube. This is the way to accurately models composite mast behaviour.

Mechanical properties can be quickly adjusted through the graphic interface and variations of buckling coefficients and of mast deformation are displayed interactively.

Further developments

SIMSPAR Design +

SimSpar team is still developping some new powerful functionnalities that will allow the design of the most demanding projects.
  • Mast own weight taken into account
  • User defined load on rig
  • Adjustable curve of mainsail load on the mast
  • Mast torsion including effects of fitting location
  • Hull stiffness

SIMSPAR Tuning

Set of light versions for which functionalities are limited to the tuning of the mast of one specific boat. Available controls will be defined according the specific rig, deck hardware and Class rules. First projects concern Olympic Dinghies and the most popular One Design.
